I started the Baby’s First Year program because it’s difficult for me to be with a pregnant couple for several months, attend their birth, photograph their newborn and then… nothing. Well, until they’re pregnant again. Then we would start the process all over.
So when available, I started offering a plan where I got to see the baby (and parents) every few months! Yay! It’s been a great success!

3 months / Session 1
Here is one of my graduate babies and a little about how the program works.
It’s 4 sessions in the child’s first 13 months of life for a crazy discounted price. So discounted that I only offer a few a year since I can’t fill up all my weekends with discounted shoots.
Most parents aim for milestone-type sessions: 3, 6, 9, 12 months, but that doesn’t work for everyone.
Session 1 is usually when baby is smiling and can hold up their chest. Session 1 isn’t a newborn session, so it always takes place after the baby is at least 6 wks old.
I try to get some shots of the nursery for documentation purposes, if there is one. Some parents spend months painting, decorating and preparing this special room. This room won’t always be this pristine. heehee.
It’s important to me to involve the parents in the photos as well. Your baby will look back on these and love them! Can you imagine having a photograph of one of your parents holding you?

6 Months / Session 2
Each of the 4 sessions includes 15 images for download.
At Session 2, the baby is generally sitting up on their own.
That includes sitting in a tub, and/or sitting up without a diaper to get a photo of all the baby rolls.
Baby rolling over, baby grabbing their feet.
This baby wasn’t quite sitting up yet, so we used her Bumbo seat.

9 Months / Session 3
Session 3 we usually do something with a tub. A tub of bubbles outside, tub of fruit, milk bath.
If baby wasn’t able to sit up at the last session, we fully take advantage of that at session 3.
At session 3, babies are usually “pulling up” and/or can stand with assistance.
Toys and personality are encouraged and incorporated.
Sitting up, clapping hands, and usually can say Ma-ma or Dad-da.
Always love adding the parents for a few shots.

12 Months / Session 4
Happy Birthday, Baby! At the 4th and final photo session, we celebrate the baby’s birthday.
At this session, babies are usually able to stand and/or walk.
At all sessions, we try to incorporate the holidays and/or seasons.
Cake Smash is a really popular option for Baby’s 1st Birthday.
Baby’s First Year Plan isn’t for everyone and/or can be catered to fit your needs. My goal was honestly just to be more involved in some of these babies’ lives and you can see that it’s been working beautifully.
