Emory Johns Creek Birth Induction Video: Cora
I think it’s important to understand that birth photography and videography is for all types of births.
Some moms go until 43 weeks, waiting for a spontaneous birth and some moms get their hair, makeup and nails done before a scheduled induction at 39wks. Before an induction takes place, your Dr will look at many variables, including your bishop score.
I love it when the mom writes the blog post for me 🙂 It’s her birth, so I feel it should be her story to tell, from her own perspective. For this one, it’s just in time for Cora’s first birthday!

“I knew as soon as my doctor told me I could schedule an induction, I knew that I wanted to. I am such a planner and having a scheduled induction took away so much of my anxiety about when and where I would be when it was time to have our baby.
Initially we were planning to schedule the induction at 39 weeks, but a few months before my due date it was suggested that we move it up to 38 weeks.
We couldn’t wait to meet our little angel, so we happily scheduled the induction.
We arrived at the hospital around 9pm that Sunday night; neither of us really knew what to expect but we were so anxious and excited that we would be meeting our daughter soon.
I didn’t get much sleep that night mostly due to pain but I was also anxious an excited for Cora to arrive.
Luckily Kevin was able to sleep most of the night. The induction progressed well and at 3:30 on Monday, Cora Evelyn arrived weighing 6lbs 7oz and 20 inches long.
Hearing her first cry and holding her for the first time is something we will never forget. We are so thankful that Maegan was there to capture these precious moments.”
