Lochlan is a little miracle baby. His parents have struggled with infertility for years and through the provision of friends, family and God, they were able to do IVF and get pregnant with Lochlan’s order brother, Lake.

But, when they tried again for Lochlan, it didn’t happen. In fact, the medical center told Lochlan’s parents that they should give up altogether because there was less than a 1% chance they would ever conceive again.

About 6 months after that terrible news, Courtney called me. I had just got off the phone with her so I answered, “Did you forget something!?”

Courtney’s voice was quiet and calm. She said she was looking at a positive pregnant test and was very confused.

After some testing and many weeks of praying, Courtney decided to tell everyone that she was PREGNANT without any medical intervention. They became pregnant on their OWN.

Less than a 1% chance? Yeah, God is bigger than that!!

And here he is! Lochlan was born via planned C-section and Courtney flew me out to take his newborn pictures.

While Courtney was getting a shower, I had Lochlan all to myself. It was fabulous being able to photograph him and it was like babysitting him too. I loved it.

He was such a good baby, and super strong! He didn’t mind any newborn pose as long as he wasn’t curled up. He would punch and kick his way out of any blanket wrap I tried.

These are the best. I love newborn lifestyle photography because it really captures what those first few weeks are like. Lots of hugging and loving on the couch.

Just sitting back and staring at your baby, learning their every feature.

Lochlan eventually learned to love being swaddled up and was such a good boy during his photo shoot.
